We are here to inspire the community to restore Spring Creek Valley’s ecology, embrace its beauty and focus its land use on sustainability.

Spring Creek flows from the foothills of the Otway Range to the coast at Torquay.  It's a special place, naturally home to a diversity of species. It's a place that the community has stood up to protect.

The Restore Spring Creek project is being led by the Surf Coast Energy Group (SCEG), working in partnership with government agencies and authorities, landowners, local businesses, conservation specialists, other community groups, and the wider community in general.

We have come together to restore nature in Spring Creek valley.  Ecology is one of four key areas that demand our attention in this 21st century. The other three are Economy, Energy and Equity. All four can be included in our land management response in Spring Creek valley.

Our Aim

Spring Creek valley is the unifying geological feature linking Bellbrae, Torquay and Jan Juc,, whilst at the same time providing a green space that is treasured by all.

Spring Creek Valley

Our first key initiative is the development of the Ridgeline Trail. This project will result in an upgraded and extended pathway, restoration of local biodiversity and an enhanced trail experience, connecting us to nature and to the places we want to go.

Our Vision

SCEG's 100 year vision is that through community-led management and private property partnerships of the Spring Creek valley landscape, its unique woodland ecosystems are restored, and nature is thriving while new social and economic opportunities are developed as a calibrated response to ballooning 21st century challenges associated with the E4 crisis: energy, economy, ecology and equity.
